It is at times of medical crises that I am more acutely aware of God’s presence around my loved ones and myself. I am so aware of His angels surrounding us and all the healthcare workers, doing all they can to sustain life.

I believe many of the medical miracles that happen today are because of the knowledge God has given to those in the medical profession. We think of the researchers who have done so much to reduce the effects of, or even eliminate many of the dread diseases. Consider the engineers and others who have designed machines like MRI, Cat Scans, Electro Encephalographs and more.

I believe that God has enabled doctors to study and practise medicine, from family practitioners to brain surgeons and the diagnostic abilities they need. I believe that God has given the sisters and nurses the empathy and caring that patients in hospitals need.

Lord, we bring before you:

• Doctors, specialists and their staff, who care for us and treat our various ailments and diseases.
• General practitioners who are the first we consult for help, that they may correctly diagnose the many problems patients face.
• The technical staff, operating x-ray machines, heart lung machines, scans and more.
• The sisters and nurses on whom are so much of patient care devolved, for their empathy and understanding of their patients’ needs.
• For Emergency workers, the doctors and paramedics caring for accident victims and other emergencies
• For hospital administrators, medical aid managers and technicians designing and building new medical equipment.
